New Lift Installations for Apriltsi in Bulgaria
At the foot of the Balkan Mountains lies the municipality of Apriltsi, known for its unique nature and alpine landscape.
As the “northern gateway” to the Central Balkan National Park, the small town attracts visitors with its green forests, crystal-clear rivers, and impressive mountain peaks.
With a population of around 2,700 and a tourist capacity of 1,500 beds, the region’s economic development relies heavily on tourism.
Center of ecotourism
Apriltsi has established itself as a center of ecotourism, offering a wide range of outdoor activities. From mountain hiking and cycling tours to paragliding and family-friendly hiking routes, there are numerous ways to experience nature up close.
Through targeted investments, the municipality is working to further develop the infrastructure and make the area more attractive.
Lift project: accessibility for all
A significant project to promote tourism is the “Lift Apriltsi” initiative. Planned are a cabin lift leading to the foot of Mount Maragidik, as well as a four-seater chairlift that will take visitors up to the summit.
These facilities will make it easier to access popular attractions such as the Kadamliisko Waterfall and the route to the summit of Mount Botev.
The project aims to make the mountain accessible to people of all ages and physical conditions, including the elderly, families with children, and people with disabilities.
Apriltsi captivates with its alpine landscape and pristine nature, establishing itself as a center for ecotourism.
Partnership with MOUNTAIN PLANNING
The municipality of Apriltsi has consciously chosen the expertise of the Austrian company MOUNTAIN PLANNING, led by Armand Windisch, for the sustainable development of its tourism offerings.
With years of experience in the construction of lift systems, the company is the ideal partner for this project. In 2020, Windisch visited the region and was impressed by the natural beauty.
His enthusiasm motivated the municipality to push the project forward with determination and realize the lift project. This will make Apriltsi a pioneer for sustainable tourism in Bulgaria.
The new lift installations will improve accessibility and make the region’s natural treasures accessible to everyone.
