Destination: Success!
Vacation behaviour has changed dramatically over the past pandemic months – people prefer to enjoy their leisure time closer to home and the need for exercise in nature has risen sharply.
Reason enough for investors to use the associated potential and invest in new concepts to increase the attractiveness of their destination. Especially as a year-round tourism concept, adventure parks represent a promising business model.
Attracting visitors not only with winter offers, but also with a broad summer offer and extraordinary ideas ensures competitiveness in the market. Especially now, when people tend to spend their holidays within their own region, it is particularly important to convince potential guests and thus to bind them in the long term.
Independent consultancy
Investors face various hurdles in their search for the right all-round solution to develop their adventure area. faszinatour offers a technology-independent consultancy service to players in the leisure industry.
The company looks back on more than 30 years of experience in the outdoor industry and draws its competence from around 300 completed projects in the field of conceptual design and construction of adventure parks.
faszinatour provides practical support, for example in dealing with the authorities, applying for permits and finding financing options. From the initial idea to the final construction, everything comes from a single source.
The company is also an experienced advisor on internal issues, for example when other parties need to be convinced of a concept or when studies and preliminary plans on feasibility or environmental compatibility are required.
Tailor-made concepts
faszinatour designs tailor-made concepts for adventure destinations, always taking into account the individual need of the investor. A combination of different facility types is often the solution, so that an adventure park fits ideally into the existing area and perfectly complements existing attractions.
The product portfolio not only includes high ropes courses, climbing forests, mega ziplines and adventure playgrounds, but since 2020 also the first completely floating ropes course “Aqua Chimp”, which can be installed on almost any standing body of water.
Basically, the key to success is always a highly individual and authentic concept that incorporates the cultural history, regional characteristics and exceptional natural features of the respective location.
A wonderful example of this is the Adventure Park realised in Sappee, Finland in June 2021. This region is not only known as a winter destination but has also been pushing MTB tourism for around 15 years, for example as a host for major events in the industry.
But how did it come about that Sappee invested in a large-scale “Seikkailupuisto” – Finnish for climbing park – in addition to the existing bike park?
From the conception phase to completion
A target group analysis carried out together with faszinatour showed that the existing attractions do not appeal much to children between 6 and 12 years of age and are therefore not aimed at families.
With the conception and construction of the new, family-friendly Adventure Park, this shortcoming was sustainably remedied. To guarantee fun for as broad an audience as possible, very different modules were combined for the project.
There are no less than 38 ziplines and a base jump with a height of 11 metres. A very special highlight are two ziplines, each 100 metres long.
From the conception phase to completion, faszinatour focuses on transparency and open communication in order to perfectly adapt each adventure park to the regional conditions and special wishes of the investor. Sappee shows what a family-friendly overall concept looks like, that works for all age groups – both in summer and winter.
