A network of six companies
RPG comprises a total of six companies, each of which specialises in a different subject area. ROPES GmbH is concerned with cable car planning and engineering, Dorfmann Engineers are responsible for infrastructure and energy projects, and INTALES GmbH produces capability analyses and component calculations. The specialist areas of testing, inspections and acceptance are covered by accredited testing and inspection agency WPK Austria GmbH.
In turn, Chain Drive Crane GmbH is an expert in the area of installation and servicing, and the topics of snowmaking and infrastructure planning are undertaken by Vita GmbH. With the expertise of these companies, all areas can be handled, from feasibility study and planning through installation and execution to initial operation and acceptance of cable car and infrastructure facilities.
A broad spectrum of projects
The types of projects supported and implemented by RPG are as diverse as its services. To date, over 50 cable car projects have been planned and implemented worldwide. These have included not only tasks from the cable car industry but also projects in the area of infrastructure and water management, as well as snowmaking, and structural and civil engineering. Even the topics of energy management and optimisation are not forgotten here.
Global presence
The group, which operates internationally, recently completed two major projects in India. In Kedarnath and Hemkund, temple complexes are accessed by cable car in several sections. Here, together with an Indian partner, RPG undertook the technical cable car feasibility study and planning as well as preparation of the relevant tender documents.
In Germany, RPG is playing in leading role in renewal of the Ochsenkopf North and Ochsenkopf South cable cars. The existing chairlifts here are being replaced with the latest generation of new, modern, 10-seater gondola cableways.
Here, RPG is responsible both for general planning of the cable cars and all station buildings and for the cable car technology and infrastructure tendering process. RPG also operates in the increasingly important urban area: in Cologne it produced the technical feasibility study for the so-called “Rheinpendel“.
In Munich, Cottbus and Klausen (South Tyrol) it verified the technical and economic feasibility of cable cars as part of the local public transport. From A to Z, from start to finish, the cable car experts from the ROPEWAY PROJECT GROUP provide planning and support worldwide and on all sides.
