New CEO at WYSSEN USA Inc.
Since the first avalanche mast projects in 2017, the local WYSSEN USA team has collaborated with transportation departments and ski resorts to enhance their tools for operational avalanche risk management.
Starting from August 1, 2023, Jamie joined the team in the role of CEO.
“We have a very strong team in the USA, and it’s exciting to have someone with Jamie’s background and experience at WYSSEN USA, complementing the team,” said Walter Steinkogler, former CEO of Wyssen USA Inc.
Jamie Yount is a meteorologist and long-time avalanche expert with over 20 years of experience in avalanche prevention and forecasting. Jamie Yount originally hails from Bozeman, Montana, and earned a degree in meteorology from the University of Utah in 2002.
He began his career as an avalanche expert for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. In 2017, he was hired as the Director of Avalanche Service for the Colorado Department of Transportation and was promoted to oversee the entire winter operations in 2019.
At CDOT, Jamie led a team that managed and supported over 1200 winter operations personnel. The team executed outstanding projects and provided crucial weather information to a variety of stakeholders.
