Silvretta Montafon ski resort ready for a new chapter
The new Silvretta Park Montafon opened in December. At the same time, the new Valisera lift, whose bottom station is integrated into the Silvretta Park, began operating for the first time. The Silvretta Montafon ski area invested a total of 70 million euros in the overall project.
Among other things, guests can expect to find Austria’s first autonomously operated 10-seater gondola lift, Vorarlberg’s largest e-charging garage, a market hall with regional gastronomy and an Intersport store. From summer 2022, Silvretta Park Montafon will be complemented by a directly connected hotel with a public restaurant.
More comfort is provided in the gondolas of the DOPPELMAYR D-Line not only by the individual seats with seat heating, but also by the indoor ski holder: In the future, skis will no longer have to be placed in holders on the outside of the doors when boarding, but can be conveniently fixed inside the cabin in recesses in the floor.
The Silvretta Park
with the integrated Valisera railroad is the largest project in the company’s history.
New hub of the ski area
In addition, the gondolas are designed to be barrier-free. “The Silvretta Park Montafon is the new hub of the Silvretta Montafon. It connects the two mountain sides Hochjoch and Nova as well as the outer and inner valley – Außer- and Innerfratte. Everything the winter and mountain sports resort has to offer can be found bundled here.
We have placed particular emphasis on short distances, the ideal visitor flow and maximum comfort,” emphasizes Peter Marko one of the two managing directors of Silvretta Montafon. The amenities of the Silvretta Park also include comfortable, barrier-free access from the underground car park to the gondola lift entry point. The underground parking garage is designed as the largest e-charging garage in Vorarlberg and has a total of 600 parking spaces as well as a MOON Lounge with 50 charging stations.
In addition, the ski school center is integrated into the ski area’s Silvretta Park Montafon.
“Our vision was to create a year-round meeting place – a meeting zone with a feel-good character for guests, locals and employees alike. We are all the more pleased that we can also live up to this claim with the Silvretta Park,” concludes Peter Marko.
