After the end of the 24th Winter Olympics, it is not only the successful sportspeople who are looking back on the big event with satisfaction. Swiss cable car manufacturer BARTHOLET also achieved a number of successes.

Thanks to a new, high-speed connection between Thaiwoo ski resort and Beijing, all snow lovers can now travel to the “Chinese snow utopia” in just 47 minutes.

The 6-person chairlift from BARTHOLET has also brought a significant improvement in comfort. It is therefore no wonder that the installation has quickly become a hit with visitors, even away from the Olympic hustle and bustle. In particular, the premium design of the installation, “Design by Porsche Design Studio,” has attracted great attention in China.

The chairlift at the ski resort near Beijing is not the only successful link from the cable car manufacturer; the emerging market of China is progressing well. “Swiss quality” together with the precision and reliability it promises are highly valued in China.

Chongqing, one of the world’s largest cities, has recently been able to enjoy a newly accessible viewpoint: thanks to the attractive, 8-person gondola cableway from BARTHOLET, residents and tourists from the metropolis – home to 32 million people – of Chongqing can travel into the mountains at a speed of six metres per second and a height of 1,880 metres above sea level, to enjoy a breath- taking view.

Not only does this offer them the opportunity to experience nature and tranquillity; on the journey, they can also enjoy the pleasant comfort of the panorama gondola designed by Porsche Design Studio.

Laoshan is also backing the premium product from BARTHOLET. All year round, the new, detachable, 8-person panorama gondola transports over 2,000 people per hour to the mountain viewpoint east of Qingdao, on the Yellow Sea coast.

The modern track covers an altitude of 220 metres in just 3.5 minutes. Thanks to the large windows and glass bottom, passengers have a genuinely complete panoramic view. Moreover, the cable car has a direct drive – a quiet, environmentally friendly, high- performance propulsion system.

In Altay in northwest China, the first BARTHOLET cableway has opened. Originally designed as an 8-person gondola cableway, it was converted to a combined lift in 2018.

Since then, guests at the ski resort in northwest China have been carried up the mountain on a comfortable six-person chairlift or in a spacious 8-person gondola. This innovative cable car system combines the advantages of a detachable gondola cableway with those of a detachable chairlift. Gondolas and chairs are used at the same time, although the boarding and alighting areas are separate and customised to the requirements of the respective vehicle.
