Cold start at -20°C: various parts inside snow groomers are brought to life within seconds. The hydraulics are central to the proper function of the equipment: as well as the hydrostatic drive, they also supply the working tools.

The hydraulic fluid ensures lossless power transmission at over 300 bar, from the pump to the consumers. The new, biodegradable MOTOREX ECOSYNT PAO 46 hydraulic oil combines numerous advantages with the latest human, mechanical and environmental demands.

Unnecessary warm-up times to make the hydraulics ready to respond at frosty temperatures are a thing of the past, thanks to the low cold viscosity of ECOSYNT PAO 46. This not only protects the pump and the complex hydraulics; it also saves time and energy.

Biodegradable

MOTOREX ECOSYNT PAO 46 has been developed specifically for the extreme requirements of snow groomers. The PAO designation indicates the use of polyalphaolefins (synthetic hydrocarbons), which exhibit many advantageous properties.

The zinc-free additive promises maximum lubrication reliability and long-lasting shear stability. The low cold viscosity is achieved by means of the increased viscosity index and provides a stable lubricating film at high temperatures.

At the same time, the highperformance base oils, which are stable in aging, allow long, above-average durability. The new formula offers excellent material compatibility in comparison with seals and hydraulic hoses.

No static charge

High flow rates and pressures in the hydraulic systems of snow groomers cause the molecules in the hydraulic oil to “rub” together. This can result in static charges, which can discharge in an uncontrolled way in the filter housing and cause damage.

Not so with ECOSYNT PAO 46 from MOTOREX: special additives make the hydraulic oil electrically conductive. This prevents the formation of so-called hotspots (uncontrolled discharges), which can damage filter systems and hoses.

Long maintenance intervals

The removal of moisture and dirt into the filter is a fundamental task of the hydraulic fluid. As a result of wide temperature fluctuations and the dreaded snow dust, moisture repeatedly finds its way into the (theoretically) sealed hydraulic systems.

MOTOREX ECOSYNT PAO 46 is suitable for extended maintenance intervals (long durability). One of the reasons for this lies in the high hydrolytic stability of the polyalphaolefins used, which do not react with water.

For the extended maintenance intervals to be achievable, filtration and monitoring of the hydraulic oil must be ensured through analysis.
