Innsbruck Exhibition Centre: Innovation at the Interalpin
The cable car and Alpine technology industry last met up four years ago in Innsbruck. Four years is a long time for a sector that is characterised more than almost any other by progress, change and vision.
Numerous global market leaders from the industry live in or near Tyrol and will be hosting visitors and delegations from Europe and overseas for the trade fair. The world premieres and innovations of the key players are eagerly awaited.

Anticipation of the trade fair
“The figures show how much the industry is looking forward to and calling for interaction. With around 650 exhibitors, INTERALPIN this year will be bigger than ever and we are expecting that visitor numbers will also be up from the previous trade fair,” emphasises INTERALPIN project manager Stefan Kleinlercher from Congress Innsbruck.

Topics of global concern
As part of the 2nd INTERALPIN INSPIRATION DAYS on the second and third days of the trade fair, the programme includes top key notes, talks and sessions. The opening speaker will be Dr. Eduardo Santander, Executive Director of the European Travel Commission from Brussels.
“In recent years, the topic of sustainability has experienced huge dynamism as a result of various global factors. The cable car and Alpine technology industry has already set new standards in this area in recent years. These include economic factors as well as climate and environmental protection, plus quality of life from modern mobility. INTERALPIN will once again demonstrate its status as a world-leading trade fair and you can look forward to some completely new technologies and approaches,” confirms Christian Mayerhofer, CEO of Congress Innsbruck.
The topics that are concerning the industry will also be reflected in the sessions on the second of the INTERALPIN INSPIRATION DAYS, which are dedicated to the priorities of “future and outlook for tourism”, “marketing & digitalisation”, “sustainability” and “staging on the mountain”.
Huge value added
Around INTERALPIN numerous parallel events will be taking place in Innsbruck, including the Austrian cable car conference on 19th April 2023, the general meeting and seminar of the International Organisation for Transportation by Rope (OITAF), and the meeting of the International Federation of National Associations of Passenger Transport by Rope Railways (FIANET).
The day before the trade fair, the “INTERALPIN B2B cooperation platform” from Tyrol’s chamber of commerce will bring together native companies and selected foreign winter sports operators from at least ten countries, such as China, Canada, Japan and Morocco.
On the first evening of the 700 invited guests from industry and business. During the evening, the “snow crystal of skiing” will be awarded for the lifetime achievements of the Austrian Ski Federation.

The charisma of a world-leading trade fair
In Innsbruck, exhibitors and visitors are expected from over 100 countries. Many visitors will be combining their trade fair attendance with a visit to company sites and ski resorts.
“INTERALPIN has huge charisma: flags will be flown again in the city, and all the hotels and restaurants in Innsbruck and the surrounding valleys will be fully booked. A trade fair of this magnitude is also felt in the city, and we can all look forward to it. Moreover, many visitors will stay for much longer than just the period of the trade fair,” Christian Mayerhofer is pleased to report.
“INTERALPIN has always been – and will be this year more than ever – a strong and positive sign of an upturn. The value added and the indirect returns for the whole province are huge.” Together with partner Pappas, Congress Messe Innsbruck will once again offer the tried and tested Mercedes VIP shuttle.
Online visitor registration open now
From March, specialist visitors can register online for the trade fair. This year, for the first time, the option of self- registration online will also be available on the website: www.interalpin.eu
