Câble A to hover over Val-de-Marne in 2025
From Créteil to Villeneuve Saint-Georges via Limeil-Brévannes and Valenton… As the crow flies in just 17 minutes? This will be possible in 2025 thanks to the Cable A project. On a 4.5-kilometre route, five stations will bring passengers comfortably to their destination.
Of particular importance here are the barrier-free design of the 10-seater cabins and the smooth integration of the new transport system into the existing fare system of the Ile-de-France.
Why a cable car
The area is difficult to negotiate for pedestrians due to laid rails as well as the historically grown road infrastructure. Therefore, a further installation in the so-called level 0 came out of the question.
The urban cable car, on the other hand, is perfectly suited for hovering over the already existing obstacles. The transport systems currently operating there are no longer able to meet the needs of the population of these areas. The planned Câble A cable car is intended to provide a significant traffic calming effect and thus improve the quality of life of the local residents.
Project
On 7 May, Île-de-France Mobilités and the consortium DOUBLEMAYER France SAS signed a contract worth 110 million euros for the design, construction and maintenance of the Câble A cableway.
Once this first stage is validated, work can begin as early as 2022, with commissioning planned for mid-2025.
