Preview of the VRN cable car day program
Various formats have been combined in the program design, so that a communicative and informative symposium can be expected. In addition to specialist presentations and short impulses, a high-ranking panel discussion and specialist forums will shed light on various current topics. In addition, there will be the opportunity to take part in technical tours of the ropeway system in the BUGA grounds. Networking will also be an important part of the ropeway day. The highlight will be the evening event in the afternoon – organized by DOPPELMAYR.

“The VRN ropeway day on the BUGA site is a unique opportunity to link the theoretically imparted knowledge of a specialist conference with the practical experience gained by the ropeway on site. We are pleased that a high number of participants have already registered.”
In terms of content, the expert presentations will address the perspectives of urban ropeways from the point of view of the Federal Ministry of Transport, ropeway planning in the association area and the genesis of the ropeway in the BUGA area.
Short impulses from citizen participation and area development will offer exciting perspectives from new angles. In the specialist forums, planners, scientists, engineers and lawyers will discuss in-depth issues with participants from the perspective of their respective disciplines.
The panel discussion will feature Elke Zimmer, State Secretary at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport, Ingo Strater (Federal Ministry of Transport), Christian Specht, First Mayor of the City of Mannheim, and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Follmann (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences), representatives from the federal government, the state, the city, and academia, so that all relevant decision-making and competence levels will be in joint discussion.
The varied program has been prepared by the Rhine-Neckar Transport Association (VRN) in cooperation with Cable Car World GmbH.
