Feasibility study for cable car in Kelheim put out to tender

In the Bavarian town of Kelheim (located between Ingolstadt and Regensburg), a feasibility study for a connection to the rail network is put out to tender. An urban cable car is considered the preferred option by local decision-makers. The Free State of Bavaria is supporting the project with more than 100,000 euros.

Federal Transport Minister makes a strong case for urban cable cars

The German Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport Volker Wissing is patron of the next Cable Car World. The international mobility fair on urban cable cars with accompanying congress will take place for the second time at Messe Essen from 4 to 5 June 2024. The focus of Cable Car World is on local public transport on the plus-one level.

The VDV conference of the Cable Car Working Group in Baden-Baden

From July 4th to 6th, 2023, the technical operations managers of cable car installations from Germany and Luxembourg gathered in Baden-Baden for their annual conference. This year, the Baden-Baden Municipal Utilities invited the VDV meeting of the "Standseil-/Bergbahnen" working group. The highlight of the event was the visit to the upgraded Merkur Mountain Railway.

Namur: Téléphérique de la Citadelle

Since opening in May 2021, the Namur citadel cable car immediately won over tourists. Thanks to its privilieged location in the heart of the Walloon capital, this new, orginal mode of transport offers a practical and spectacular route to the top of the citadel. Despite difficulties associated with health restrictions for the pandemic, which reduced the capacity from six passengers to two, the success was immediate.
